Nigeria Health Workers Threaten To Embark On Nation Wide Strike

The Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU), which is Nigeria's union for federal health workers, has threatened to go on a nationwide strike if the government refuses to meet its demands. 
 
 The union is demanding an improvement inworkers welfare and conditions of service, including "reconstitution of boards of health institutions, staff promotion from levels 14 to 15 on the consolidated health salary scale for directors, and review of retirement age from 60 to 65 years," VANGUARD reports. 
 
 The union has given the Federal Government a 15-day ultimatum to meet their demands,and have threatened to launch a nationwide strike from May 19 if this isn't done.
