I Love To Love: Mo' cheddah Is Back - Speaks To BN On Music Style And Love

It's MO’CHEDDAH!

When music starMODUPE-OREOLUWA OYEYEMI OLA, known to all as Mo'Cheddahdropped off the music scene for a while, we all wondered what she was up to and many thought she had left the industry. Now the "KO MA ROLL" songstress has made a comeback with the love inspired track "DESTINAMBARI" featuring PHYNO.

So, BN MUSIC just had to chat with her to discuss everything she was up to during her break from the music industry, her new style, what to expect from her now that she's back, her relationship and much more.

 MUSIC CAREER
HI, WE MISSED YOU IN THE MUSIC SCENE. WELCOME BACK!WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO
I missed you guys too! I've been on a break, although I have been working behind the scenes recording and creating new material. I also had time to travel a lot, spend quality time with family and friends. My schedule before did not allow all these - it was road to plane, show to shoot, school back and forth etc.

DESTINAMBARI IS A TRACK THAT PEOPLE LOVE, AND IT’S ABOUT LOVE -WHAT INSPIRED THE SONG
I'm grateful for that, I love it too. Like you said, the song is about love, it is inspired by love, I love to love, and that was the state of mind while recording.

How was it like collaborating with Phyno
It was amazing, it was easy and it was fun, Phyno has great talent and is good in his art.

AND The video was amazing, how'd you come up with the concept
The video concept was all CLARENCE PETERS, he's the best, simple.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER SINGLES/VIDEOS IN THE WORKS WHEN SHOULD WE EXPECT THEM
Yes yes, I can't wait to share, but one at a time, I'm back now, you won't have to wait too long.

SHOULD WE BE EXPECTING AN ALBUM ANYTIME SOON
I have enough songs for an album, but I think I'll just release singles for now.

 PERSONAL LIFE
DESTINAMBARI IS A SWEET LOVE SONG – WAS IT INSPIRED BY ANYONE IN YOUR LIFE
  Hmmm, maybe

YOU UPLOADED A PICTURE OF YOU WITH A RING ON YOUR FINGER THAT HADPEOPLE TALKING. SHOULD WE EXPECT ANY GOOD NEWS SOON *WINK*
Lol, it was a normal ring, it didn't look like that type of ring. I was wondering why people were talking. But good news, errrrr, wait for it.

 FUTURE PLANS
Aside from music, what else are you up to
Music is me. I am music.

IF YOU WEREN’T DOINGMUSIC, WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU DO
I don't know, perhaps a chef because I love to cook, perhaps a lawyer because I know how to make my point, I'm really not sure.

HOW DO YOU THINK THE INDUSTRY HAS CHANGED SINCE YOU’VE BEEN GONEAND WHERE DO YOU SEE THE FUTURE OF NIGERIAN MUSIC/FEMALES IN THEINDUSTRY
The industry has grown and gotten better. Nigerian music is being exported now, it's great! I see the ladies doing their thing, they are going strong, sooner than later they will be pairs with the guys in terms of achievement, better still; supercede.

 STYLE
YOU RECENTLY DEBUTED YOUR FRINGE, WHAT INSPIRED THE LOOK
I really wasn't a fan of shortcuts initially, I saw it on my friend and decided to try it and Bam! Haven't stopped doing it since, I do miss my long hair, but for now, I'm rocking this, it's called the "Mo'Cheddah Cut".

IS THERE ANY FASHION TREND THAT YOU ARE REALLY LOVING NOW
Right now my best trends are metallic shoes, tops or skirts. I'm all about the easy and playful.

WHAT’S A NO-NO WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR STYLE
As for no-no, nothing's a no-no if you can pull it off, I like to try new things.

 FUN STUFF
What's your favourite Naija song to groove to in a club right now
I'm not sure, I'm hardly in the club.

YOU WERE IN SOUTH AFRICA FOR A WHILE. IS THERE ANY ARTISTE YOU WOULD LIKE TOCOLLABO WITH
Yes I was in South Africa and I want to work with AKA.

WHICH SONG OF YOURS ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF
I'm proud of every one of them.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BEST AND WORST PERFORMANCES ANY FUNNY STORY
Most memorable was in South Africa, crazy show. I can't remember any bad ones.

WHAT ADVICE WILL YOU GIVE TO ARTISTES WHO ARE JUST STARTING OUT
Be focused, set your own trend, have your own identity and believe.

IT WAS GREAT CHATTING WITH YOU MO’CHEDDAH. WELCOME BACK!
